Mr. Taylor serves as a Managing Director and the Chief Financial Officer of The Energy & Minerals Group (EMG).  Prior to joining EMG in July 2013, Mr. Taylor was an Audit Partner at KPMG.  Mr. Taylor began his career at KPMG in 1994 and was promoted to Partner in 2006.  Throughout his career at KPMG, he performed audit and advisory services across multiple industries including the private equity and energy sectors.  His experience includes working with SEC registered companies, PCAOB compliance requirements, U.S. GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).  Mr. Taylor has international experience and managed large-scale global audits and projects.  From 2007-2010 he was based in the New York area working at KPMG’s Global Services Centre and was responsible for the global implementation of KPMG’s audit methodology and audit technology platform.  Mr. Taylor left KPMG from 2002-2004 to be a Senior Director at i2 Technologies (“i2”), a publicly-held software company.  While at i2, Mr. Taylor was responsible for global accounting, SEC reporting and i2’s initial compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.

Mr. Taylor graduated from Baylor University with a BBA in Accounting and a minor in Information Technology Systems in 1994.  Mr. Taylor has also served as an Advisory Board member for the Accounting Department of Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business.  Mr. Taylor is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas and a member of the AICPA.
